Gakkos around the West Coast have been creating various Japanese cultural projects. Here are some projects that they would like to share.
Mango Mochi
Audience: 3rd-6th Grade Students
Mochi is a Japanese rice cake. This recipe uses Jell-o to flavor a common Japanese dessert. A simple recipe for kids to follow with video instructions.
Microwave Mochi with Fillings
Audience: 3rd-6th Grade Students
This recipe is another mochi making video using the microwave. It is a quick recipe that requires little ingredients and allows kids to have fun with the fillings that they choose.
Japanese American Incarceration Camp Minecraft Video
Audience: 3rd-5th Grade Students
A video about the Japanese American Incarceration Camps that educates elementary school students about the incarceration camps in a creative way. Please turn on closed captioning when viewing the video.
